Besides the commercial product called TERRO you can make your own mixture (recipe below). Ants eat this and take it back to their nest.

1 tsp of boric acid powder (any pharmacy)
1/4 cup of sugar (or use confectioners sugar, brown sugar honey molasses or other ant food)
2 cups of hot water (plus or minus)

Place in small trays using aluminum foil (Note from Peggi --- Metallic baking cups will also work well)
